This split tape is the result of the collaboration between Vultur and Black Stream, a classic example of how in the most extreme underground union is strength: Mistica Funebre productions, Unburied Productions and Wine and Fog distro gathered to give to the masses this "Fuck You in Heaven", despite a limited hand-numbered press of 66 copies, as we are used to the decay of discographic releases.
Mandatory to say is that the noise-ritual of Black Stream is not the usual musical target which this blog aims to disclose, though it is a chance to share thoughts and feelings: if the aim of the band is to share disturb and vexation, in my opinion, this goal is widely achieved.
It is pretty difficult to describe their musical proposal, the use of the instruments and all the aspects of editing: at times we could even speculate that the band is simply improvising in the search of inspiration, while in other moments the goal goes completely out of sight and we feel quite a confusion. Maybe the addition of images and videos could help the listener understand and contextualise the band's efforts, but the simple listening is not convincing.
Speaking about Vultur, the band is already well appreciated because of their debut demo. Throughout the years they have been able to define their personality, and despite the short length of this work, we can perceive the results.
The initially broken chord of "Cundanna", which follows an insane and perverted intro, is glacial and evil, and it is the excellent forerunner of a fierce and violent guitar riffing, able to create captivating melodies which remain impressed in the mind of the listener, being furthermore exalted by vocals sung in the local dialect.
Well done is the drumming, accurate and solid in the slow parts, as much as devastating in the faster moments; though the lack of a natural sonority and too much equalized leads to thinking about meticulous editing, giving the feeling to listen to a drum machine.
In "Interru" the band shows all its playing skills, including complex bass guitar lines (Death's style) as a base for guitars that, instead, are played in the most classical standard of the purest Black Metal tradition!!
Elite and folklore... this is Vultur.
