Excellent debut Mcd for this interesting French trio, initially available only in digital format and from November 2021, thanks to Wormholedeath Records, also on physical support.
Usquam proposes a Black Death Metal with a strong impact, melodic and extremely captivating, on this occasion the soundtrack of the philosophical icon of the "Reborn", an enlightened figure of spiritual growth, an obligatory step for achieving the "resurrection".
“Epiphany”, initially introduced by a hypnotic guitar riffing, turns into a generator of powerful sound, all in support of the singer L.H., with his malignant screaming; in "Drawn to Death" the combination of sinister synths and the sharp guitars of Draugr is excellent.
In "Reborn", drumming with classic blast-beat, Alwan's pulsing bass, fascinating melodies, and monastic chants create dark vibrations.
The guitars of "Hail to Mars" divert the listener to the Thrash Metal influences present in the background of the band and, once again, the voice-guitar combination is a winning weapon: the screaming alternating with the growling is intense and violent!
Considering Usquam only a Black Death Metal band is reductive, their music intends to accompany in the search for the meaning of death and therefore through the understanding of what is necessary and what is not, through a meditative recollection in "Tempus Edax Rerum ".
