The veterans Necroshine, active for twenty years now, in 2017 released their fourth full-length Dechristianrites: from the title you can understand the themes dealt with and the intentions of the band that has remained consistent over the years.

Old school Black Metal that goes straight to the point, crushing riffs for an uncompromising frontal assault, strong tunes, tremolo picking and some palm muting here and there, sustained drums and a rough voice lacking the classic, sometimes overused, reverb; this is the Necroshine's style!

The sound of Dechristianrites goes hand in hand with the songwriting, nothing artificial or elaborate: rough guitars, fairly compressed drums and bass in the background, perhaps a homemade production, but convincing overall.

The songs on the album seem to be composed specifically to give an excellent live performance and unleash wild headbanging in the audience rather than to generate atmosphere on the record: the simple structure and the repetition of "choruses" mean that even after a single listening they remain well in your head... when you say "less is more"!

The explicit titles are a preview of what you are going to hear, the opening song, "Blowjobing Jesus" with its Death Metal oriented beginning and its exhilarating ending that does not breath, "Christian Sluts", "Crushed by the Cross" and "In the Splendor of Mutilation" are songs where a more melancholic and epic parts emerge, again tight and very hard "Death Always Come Too Late" and "War of Whores", more direct "Washed by Holy Cum" and "Blood of Christ", the last song "Esequie", is a deadly outro that differs significantly from the rest of the album.

In conclusion, an appreciable album, spontaneous and without frills, sometimes recalls Marduk, however not free from small smudges like drums that are sometimes not exactly precise and vocals on some occasion struggling with untreated metrics; this does not affect the good proposal, a band to be supported and enjoyed on CD and above in a live show!
