Zrohell, the voice of Noctifer (1999-2002), decided with his departure from the Roman band to pursue his ideological-musical path that he “baptized” with the name Lapis Niger. "New order of Chaos", released in 2005 and "Fuckin 'God Cult" in 2010, are the brutal and dark albums with which he introduced himself to the lovers of the most uncompromising undergrowth of Italian Black Metal! After a long period of silence, the band released in 2019 "Curse of the Myths" with the help of drummer Regulus and bassist Venificus, (from Noctifer), under the German label Total Death Records. "Demetra's Art" immediately highlights the fact that we are dealing with a band that does not want to surprise for originality, but rather pursue the musical journey undertaken by the Nordic teams almost thirty years ago! Darkthrone and Satyricon style guitars are the absolute protagonists of this song, well played and with the right malice required by the proposed genre, they blend well with the vocal lines that alternate a scratchy screaming with evocative parts and emotionally bring back to the "Dark Medieval Times" period "and "Nemesis Divina "! “Last Battle for Janus” has a really powerful and captivating sound, very reminiscent of the latest Forgotten Tomb productions: every instrument is played with competence and, once again, Zrohell's voice and guitars stand out; with the third song "Blood for Ker", we return overwhelmingly to more direct sounds, narration in the music of horror, blood, death ... heroic, sought, but also the sudden fatality of an involuntarily marked destiny! "Cerberus", fourth and last song, is severe, rigid and disciplined, like the three-headed guardian of Hades to whom it is dedicated, a clear expression of intransigence and ferocity! With this excellent work in the studio, Lapis Niger presents us an esoteric and secret Rome, fascinating and mysterious, dangerous and vengeful, as indicated by the cryptic boustrophedon engraving "Whoever violates this place be consigned to the shadows of the afterlife".
