Sometimes a few seconds of listening are enough to understand that a band comes from Scandinavia, where Black Metal is born and fortunately keeps on thriving, giving birth to bands like the one we're going to talk about.
Kryptamok is a one-man band from Finland whose debut is titled "Verisaarna", an almost 40 minutes full length where the very active Hex Inferi, mastermind of the project and already a member of other bands more or less known in the extreme scene, offers eight convincing tracks, inspired and enjoyable, where you can listen to many influences from great classics of the genre.
Melody, typical of the native land, is accompanied to a genuine dose of rawness, blending with dirty and cold guitars riffing, who intertwine between tight and slow parts, and even epic moments like in "Apokalypsin Epilooki" and "Rottien Reformaatio".
A genuine, various and rousing drumming supports the songs' structure, where ranges of bass guitar, acoustic guitars and synths enrich all the sound and make the album quite articulated. Hex Inferi's vocals barely remind of Shamaatae of Swedish Arckanum.
As said in the beginning, the sound takes us immediately to nordic lands; a freezing sound vortex where everything is well balanced, well recorded and very accurate.
This is a worth release in the old school vein, without any fall during the whole listening and very well composed; a very remarkable album which will breach in the black hearts of the die-hard 90's Black Metal's fans!
