Rinascita
Year: 2018
The third release of Homselvareg, after their debut self-titled full-length and the following "Catastrofe". Rinascita is a more accurate album than the previous ones, as sound and composition.
The band from Lombardy presents songwriting influenced by the Scandinavian style with melodic parts. The speeds are never excessive, but always pressing; fairly varied and well-blended drumming with the bass, supports a guitar riffing that alternates between typical tremolo picking and open chords capable of giving fullness to the sound that is really effective!
Furthermore, modern production allows the listeners to appreciate the balance of each instrument while retaining a bit of "dirt" that is well suited to what the band wants to propose.
The sung in Italian, despite the biting and effective screaming, sometimes is monotonous and not perfectly blended with the music. Certainly better on the most evocative parts linked to the folklore of their homeland.
"Rinascita" strikes from the first notes for the atmosphere it manages to transmit: an example is "Ventunesimo Secolo", the most successful track, with its intense and hypnotic atmosphere, this song has the honour belongs to open for an overall good level of work and which bodes well for a more consistent release in the future, a definitive leap in quality for the Homselvareg.
