An interesting and exciting debut for those who love the old-school style, not only as regards Black Metal but in general for the way of conceiving Metal itself.
In "From the shallows of a Consumed Earth", this approach allows the duo to create a Black Metal with nuances that enable the ep to take off from the first track "Cradle full of Scum": it begins with a Carpathian Forest influenced rhythm and continues with an atmosphere that sinks into more classic Black Metal tones, with passages inspired by the post "Rebel Extravaganza" (Satyricon).
Overall the work moves on these expressive lines, references to tradition, moments closer to punk-rock, and other atmospheric ones with melodic but never banal arpeggios.
Two songs stand out the most: in "Hiding from my Wrath" all the distinctive elements of the project are found and in "All you Deserve" a slight Death Metal vein is added to the whole.
Closes "F.A.I.L.", in which a different piece of the countless influences present in the album emerges; an atmospheric and desperate mid-tempo that could not be missed given the "true" attitude of the Apogee duo.
A nice Extreme Metal Ep with a great personality and excellent prospects for future works.
