Unexpected debut album of the Portuguese Angst, released in 2021 by the Japanese label Hidden Marly Productions.

There is no information about the members of the band; it is a fairly classic Black Metal that draws from the Nordic school ranging from faster moments to other more rhythmic ones, in particular in the final part of the album.

The songs are varied, but without any peculiarities, and we appreciate the ability to characterize the sound with small tricks that avoid anonymity.

Well, structured, rare but effective clean vocals, bass digressions, melodic and mid-tempo arrangements that give dynamism to the compositions; a work that is most appreciated after a few listening.

The refined sounds certainly contribute to creating the gloomy atmosphere of the entire release, the guitars sound rough and full, the bass full-bodied and metallic, the impetuous and well distinguishable drumming, although not real, the grave and dynamic screaming, in a generally well balanced and orthodox.

To mention "And Nothing Ever Died (II)", furious and engaging, "Medusa (III)", violent and evocative in the final part, and "Burn Me Father (V)" with an enthralling main riff alternating with a melancholy melody.

A quality album that, although it does not stand out for its originality, is appreciated for its coherence and effectiveness.
