The Swiss duo NachtAltar releases their second EP in 2021, just one year after the previous one; the band deals with issues of discomfort and malaise of the present day, war, abuse, catastrophes, and all the evil generated by man, putting to music the disappointment for the loss of contact with one's nature, with one's humanity.

The approach of the two musicians is a basic Black Metal, quite linear and genuine, sound processing, synths, and even metronome are left out, in favour of a more natural execution, to transmit the sensations directly in the recording, as if it were a sort of "live album".

In the two tracks that make up this short release, marked by linearity and simplicity, unfortunately, the most characterizing moments do not emerge; they develop as a painful martial procession that passes without leaving so much in the mind of the listener ...

The sounds are natural, not processed, the guitars are quite amalgamated, while the drums, although not showing off any particular technique, sound dynamic and true, like the bass in the background. Overall, the production is adequate to the proposal, unfortunately, the short duration does not allow to articulate a more complete judgment ... we, therefore, await the next release, in the hope that it will offer more material and that the band will acquire what is now missing to emerge among the thousands of proposals that crowd the current extreme scene.
