The Canadian band, after the excellent full-length "Pathos" (2019), releases in 2021 a fifteen minutes EP incredibly intense. Despite such a short duration, "Pages" releases remarkable energy permeated by an unhealthy atmosphere, to which the changes in the line-up and may also have contributed; influenced by the most modern and dissonant Black Metal, and Death Metal, they create a violent sonic mixture that is immediately imprinted in the listener's head.

Five songs with sick and captivating sounds, the lesson was given by the French Deathspell Omega emerges but reworked in a more aggressive way, there are also diversified Death Metal influences, sometimes more canonical and sometimes more Heavy-Prog and Thrash Metal, a sound hardly attributable to other bands. Inspired and rather direct songwriting, powerful and varied drumming, intertwining guitars that are not at all obvious, with a touch of psychedelic music, tight rhythms, are the elements with which Eclipser lay the foundations for their songs. The production is good which, in addition to making everything distinguishable, enhances the excellent work of the guitars; the two guitarists seem to exploit them one hundred per cent by creating unusual and refined riffing, literally "consuming" the entire neck of the instrument! The performance of the singer who follows the more Death Metal imprint of the sound is also good: a low-pitch screaming, biting and effective. Let's enjoy this short EP waiting for the next release, hoping that the band will succeed with the intent of maintaining, or exceeding, the quality level demonstrated! Andrea B.
